Introducing The Curator Post – Your Source for Authentic Recommendations

Defining Curation:

Curation: it’s more than just a list. It’s about finding the things that really stand out, that have something special to say. A curator is someone who does that – they find the gems and share them with you, so you don’t have to wade through everything else.

Curate (noun): Middle English curat “person charged with the care of souls, parish priest,” borrowed from Medieval Latin cūrātus, from cūrāre “to have spiritual charge of” + Latin -ātus.
Curator (subject): borrowed from Latin cūrātor “one who looks after, superintendent, guardian,” from cūrāre “to watch over, attend” + -tor, agent suffix

Merriam-Webster Dictionary

For a long time, curators largely worked for museums or collections as the keepers of artworks and objects. In a way, we’re all curators in our daily lives, selecting pillows for our couches, choosing new plants for our homes, decorating Christmas trees, or putting together a playlist for a summer vacation. Some of these personal curations, these carefully chosen moments and items, are truly worthy of being shared and celebrated. People put a lot of thought and love into those selections, making them special.

The Spark of “The Curator Post”:

The idea for ‘The Curator Post’ sparked from my willingness to dive into different things that are around (trending or not), and part of my reality at the moment: music, places, tv shows, events – you name it. That combined with a simple truth: living in New York City is very inspiring and there’s always something happening. Even with a job that doesn’t always pay the bills the way I’d like, it affords me the chance to be out there, experiencing exciting things.

But for me it’s not just about recommending things, though. It’s also about creating a digital space, a kind of catalog, where I can gather the things that are culturally relevant and truly resonate with me, a place to revisit and remember the references that shape my world.

The Curator Post is in summary an invitation to join me on a journey of discovery, to experience the world with intention and depth (not always though, we like the nonsense shiznit too) – from the pulse of a new track to the hush of a hidden gallery. No fluff, just good stuff curated with passion and honesty.
